Ginny Clark, MD of Trading

Ginny is a Managing Director for Beech Hill Securities overseeing the Institutional Department since she joined the firm in 2004. She started her career with Salomon Brothers when she became the first woman in their training program, and later became a sales trader on the block trading desk. Ginny then joined Merrill Lynch in 1975, as their first female trader on their equity trading desk. Ginny remained with Merrill for 11 years, before deciding to make a career change to the buy side of Wall Street, joining Steinberg Asset Management as the Managing Director of trading.

At Steinberg, Ginny also started a broker-dealer arm to accommodate overseas accounts that she felt were underrepresented. After 16 years, Steinberg Asset merged their business, thus in 2004, she joined Beech Hill Securities bringing her Institutional clients with her. While at Beech Hill, she has started a successful 15a-6 chaperoning business.

Ginny received her BA from Oklahoma University and attended night classes for 7 years at the Institute of Finance. Ginny co-founded Financial Women's Association, was the first female President of the Investment Association of NY, and first female member of the Bond Club of NY. Ginny served on various boards; Wall Street Charity Fund, NYC Susan G Komen, and The Woman’s Council for Lincoln Center. Ginny has appeared in many books and articles, and given speeches describing her experiences as a woman in a man's world.

Ginny takes great pride in how many women and men she has mentored through her Wall Street career; however, her mentoring of foster children gives her the greater reward.

Ginny escapes every weekend to her beach house in the Hamptons where golf is her passion. She also enjoys the ballet, theater, and yoga.
